MICHAEL  J.  LICCAR

Mr. Liccar is the Managing Director of the firm. A graduate of Northern Illinois University in 1979, he is a C.P.A., a NASD/NYSE Series-7 (stockbroker), a NASD Series-3 commodities representative and has completed various graduate courses in Taxation at DePaul University. Through 1982 he was a Senior Accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., (now KPMG, a "Big-4" CPA firm), in their Chicago and Denver offices and through 1985, was a Manager in the commodities/securities division of Checkers, Simon & Rosner C.P.A.'s (now American Express Tax & Business Services-Chicago).

Mr. Liccar served as Chief Financial Officer of Richard J. Dennis & Company until Mr. Dennis' initial retirement from public commodity trading in 1988. Richard J. Dennis & Company was a CTA and CPO which had managed over $160 million in assets and was general partner for two public (SEC-registered) commodity pools. Mr. Liccar was responsible for all financial, regulatory compliance and tax reporting for the Company and its commodity pools, as well as for all regulatory compliance and performance reporting for the "Turtle" trader program which was developed by Mr. Dennis and Mr. William Eckhardt.

Mr. Liccar served as Chairman for the Futures, Securities and Derivatives Special Interest Group of the Illinois CPA Society and as a member of its Commodity Technical Aid Task Force. He has often spoken as a panelist and speaker at numerous seminars, including the AICPA National Conference on Futures and Options, the International Market Authorities Seminar sponsored by the U. S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC"), the MAR Conferences on Futures Money Management, the Futures Industry Association ("FIA") Futures & Options Expo, the FIA Law and Compliance Annual Workshops, Seminars on Managed Futures for Exchange Members sponsored by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and as a faculty member for special courses on commodity compliance/back office procedures offered by IIT Chicago - Kent College of Law. He currently serves as an elected township official in Crete, Illinois, previously served as an elected municipal official of Riverdale, Illinois and is a Compatriot Member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Mr. Liccar served on the first Accounting & Legal Committee of the Managed Funds Association and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

 

MICHAEL  J.  ATWATER

Mike is a Partner with the firm. After his graduation from the University of Illinois in 1986, Mike was a Manager in the operations of two major futures firms in Chicago. Prior to joining Liccar & Co., he served as Manager of Accounting of Stotler and Company, and subsequently as Senior Accountant for Quantum Financial Services, Inc., both of which operated as futures commission merchants and clearing members of principal futures exchanges. Mike is a C.P.A. and has successfully proven his proficiency in many areas ranging from complex regulatory financial reporting to tax reporting for domestic and offshore entities.

 

TONY PYATETSKY-IZAKSON

Tony is Director of Tax Operations. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1997 with a B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University and in 2002 he earned his Master of Science in Taxation, also from DePaul University. Prior to joining the firm, Tony was the Manager of Tax Consulting for Steve Lacy & Associates, CPAs. Prior to that, he served as Senior Tax Consultant with Kupferberg, Goldberg & Niemark, CPAs and as a Staff Tax Accountant II for American Express Tax & Business Services. He is fluent in the Russian language. Tony is a C.P.A. and is a member of the Tax Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, an associate member of the American Bar Association (Tax Section, Partnership and LLCs committee, Financial Instruments committee, Hedge Funds and Private Equity Subcommittees) and member of the Illinois CPA Society (Taxation of Flow-through Entities Committee Member), New York CPA Society (Securities Industry Interest Groups member), Structured Products Association member and Chicago QWAWAFEW associate member.

   

DONALD A. PIZZIFERRO

Don is a Senior Manager with the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Don served as a Supervisor for Commodity Compliance Services, Inc. where he prepared and supervised the accounting, tax and performance reporting for wide variety of hedge funds, commodity pools, CTAs and investment advisors. Don has over 13 years experience in the futures/securities industry. He earned his Bachelor in Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University in 1988 and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elmhurst College in 1992. He is a C.P.A. and is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the American Institute of CPAs.
